A River, So Long

25 images Created 9 Aug 2016

The Mekong river is one of the largest in Asia, and second in species biodiversity only to the Amazon. Running through six countries as it makes its way from the Tibetan plateau to the South China Sea, more than 60 million people depend directly on the Mekong for their livelihoods.

But as Southeast Asian nations rush to develop and their populations expand rapidly, the health and future of the Mekong are in danger.

Shot over the course of two years, A River, So Long is a portrait this great river in the early 21st Century.
